The remainder of the 2019-2020 Season of the NY Film Society has been cancelled.

To all NY Film Society Members,

Thank you for your membership in the 2019-20 season of the SAG-AFTRA New York/WGAE Film Society. As news surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic crisis continues to evolve, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the Film Society season originally scheduled to run through August 2020. This is in the interest of member safety as well as the safety for the rest of our great city and community, and in compliance with local government guidelines.

All current members of the SAG-AFTRA New York/WGAE Film Society will receive a refund in the amount of $75, the portion of the $150 Film Society annual fee that would have covered the last six months of our season for which we are unable to offer film screenings. If you are a SAG-AFTRA member who paid online, your refund will be credited to the card you used to pay the Film Society membership fee. If you paid with a check, you will receive a check refund. You can confirm your current mailing address by logging in to SAGAFTRA.org. Refunds are being processed and will be issued by July 31, 2020. In the interim if you have any questions please contact the Film Society office by emailing nyfilmsociety@sagaftra.org.

All WGAE members will be receiving check refunds. If you are a member of the WGAE, and have questions please email Venesa Gomez at vgomez@wgaeast.org. To ensure adequate time for these refunds to be processed and delivered, please wait until after June 15, 2020 to contact the office regarding your refund.

The SAG-AFTRA New York/WGAE Film Society functions as a showcase for contemporary products in the film industry and provides opportunities for members and their guests to attend newly released films and preview screenings in a safe, professional environment.

  • Film Society members have access to a minimum of four new film screenings per month for both themselves and a guest!
  • Membership is by application only and accepted on a yearly basis. To join, you must be at least 17 years of age and in good standing with SAG-AFTRA or the WGAE.
  • Screenings are held at the DGA Theater on 110 West 57th Street in Manhattan.
