In 1994, All-American Girl made history as the first network sitcom starring an Asian American family. Margaret Cho, Clyde Kusatsu, Jodi Long, Amy Hill and more star in the short-lived but landmark show is considered to be a trailblazer for Asian Americans on television. 25 years later, we revisit the series and have a candid discussion with the reunited Kim family.

Please join us for an evening with lauded TV showrunner Neal Baer author and New York Times best-selling author Merle Ginsberg.
Neal Baer has been the showrunner on ER, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Under the Dome and presently, on Netflix’s Designated Survivor. Baer earned a degree from Harvard Medical School before completing an internship in pediatrics at UCLA Medical Center. Among his many accomplishments, Baer co-established the Institute for Photographic Empowerment at USC’s Annenberg School of Communications, co-authored two works of fiction, taught photography to mothers with HIV and AIDS orphans in South Africa and Mozambique, produced several socially conscious documentaries and has written extensively on adolescent health issues. He now sits on the boards of several healthcare and social policy-related organizations.
Merle Ginsberg is an award-winning journalist and New York Times bestselling author who has contributed to many magazines and newspapers, including W, Women's Wear Daily, The New York Times Magazine, InStyle, Harper's Bazaar, Rolling Stone, and People.

In the fast-moving world of on-camera casting, next-day auditions are part of the new normal. In this intensive seminar we will take on the 24-hour turnaround and explore tips to quickly and creatively prepare for last minute auditions, including cold reads. We will strategize ways to maximize memorization in a minimum amount of time, and focus on the questions and answers that will fast track finding character, intention and connection in the scenes.

You worked hard, prepped, and nailed the audition! It is time for the callback - NOW WHAT? Go through a mock commercial callback with Matt Miller and learn what to do, and what not to do. Get some immediate feedback from an in demand director, or simply be a fly on the wall and observe what happens when actors are in the room. Workshop will be followed by a Q&A session with Miller, so bring your questions and your commercial A-game.

Have you thought about the way dialogue gets dubbed into a movie? Or who does the ensemble voices in animation, either TV or film? There is another side beyond the principal cast that plays a vital part in this process, but is little known. Looping is the process and loop groups are the ones doing the work. Join us as we unravel the mystery behind this part of our industry.
