The SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Conservatory offers a low-cost opportunity for members to hone and develop their craft through classes, workshops, lectures and symposia — all on the campus of AFI.
The SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Conservatory Committee works on a local level to encourage, supervise, and create educational programs through the Conservatory, which benefit SAG-AFTRA members. Overseen by dedicated professionals, the Conservatory offers members a means to nurture their talents, mechanics and skills through workshops, seminars and AFI student projects. The goal is to lead to a better understanding of the role of the professional actor in the business of acting and to a more successful and productive career.

These take place in the James Cagney Boardroom, located on the lobby level of SAG-AFTRA Plaza. Actors’ Evenings are announced via emails from the Conservatory.
We are excited to offer Conservatory members the ability to record self-taped auditions free of cost. All self-tape sessions will be recorded in a professional studio located at the American Film Institute (AFI) Campus or at SAG-AFTRA Plaza. All sessions are run by member volunteers.
