Now that the 2022 Commercials Contracts have been ratified, it’s time to focus on our Local’s 2022 Regional Commercials Code. This agreement is tailored specifically to meet the needs of our regional advertisers so they may easily hire local SAG-AFTRA performers. If you’ve worked under a Texas Regional Commercials Code during the past five years, we encourage you to attend this meeting. It’s a great opportunity to make your voice heard and provide feedback as we review the current Regional Code provisions.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 18, 2022 5:30-7:00 p.m. CT

WHERE: Meetings will be held by Zoom. You must have a registered Zoom account that identifies you by name to participate.

When: 11:00 a.m.

On Sunday, May 1, Los Angeles will honor the contributions of immigrants, workers, and those who fight to create a more just society for all. This year’s theme will be “Essential & United for Justice'' and will focus on lifting up immigrants, worker rights united in solidarity for our common fights. There will be a march and rally to lift up our solidarity as community, faith, immigrant rights, LGBTQ+, labor and community organizations, who continue to stand strong with one another in the face of our current challenges.  

This is a socially distant event. If you are joining the march, wear a mask and make sure you stay at least 3-6 feet apart from one another. Weather: High of 77℉. Eat a hearty breakfast, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and bring snacks.

***While this is not an offical SAG-AFTRA event, SAG-AFTRA members are encouraged to wear their SAG-AFTRA shirts (or black) and meet near he corner of Olympic Blvd and Broadway in front of Dune Downtown.

FOR MARCHERS
The march will begin from Olympic Blvd & Broadway Blvd. Make sure to look for the flatbed truck, signs and banners. 
We will march Northbound on Broadway Blvd. 
We will then make a right on 1st Street. 
Next we will make a Left on North Spring Street which is between the Los Angeles City Hall Steps and Grand Park. 
We will march into North Spring Street, set up the flatbed truck and begin the Closing Program. (Total march route distance is 1.3 miles). 

Public Transportation
We highly encourage marchers to take the Metro Blue/Expo Line and exit the Pico Station stop. There is a short 0.7 mile walk from the Pico station to Olympic & Broadway Blvd. Look for the flatbed truck, signs and banners for May Day on Spring Street

SAG-AFTRA is inviting all members who work the Uptown (Nickelodeon) Live Action Agreement to an upcoming Wages & Working Conditions (“W&W”) meeting. The Uptown (Nickelodeon) Live Action Agreement is the agreement covering dramatic and non-dramatic programs, and promotional announcements for the Nickelodeon basic cable network.

If you have worked under this agreement, please join your fellow members to discuss issues you’d like to see addressed in the upcoming negotiations. Your participation is vital!

All W&W presentations are available to members in good standing and require the execution of a confidentiality agreement to attend.

The 28th Annual SAG Awards will be announced on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022  at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET on TBS and TNT! We’re getting ready by throwing back to 2019 and 55th Life Achievement honoree Alan Alda visiting with then-SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris to talk career and life achievements.

Voting for the SAG Awards is open until Friday, Feb. 25. Remember to vote for your favorite performances of the year!
