Discover the healing power of creativity by learning about the different types of therapy available to you. In this class, participants will learn about art and music therapy and gain a deeper understanding on how these therapies can help reduce stress and promote healing! This class will be led by Raymond Leone and Rick Conway.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:

Raymond Leone, MMT, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist and the director of medical music therapy at the Inova Health System in Northern Virginia. Leone works mainly in critical care and oncology, working directly with patients and supporting their needs with evidence based music therapy practices. Leone also writes extensively about music therapy and music wellness for Psychology Today and has had two research studies on music therapy and critical care published in the American Journal of Critical Care. 

Rick Conway, LCPAT, LPAT, LCPC, ATR-BC, is a licensed art psychotherapist and clinical counselor with an MA from George Washington University. The focus of his studies has been trauma based and multicultural practices including LGBTQ+ community. Conway has received the Katherine J Williams and Prasad Family Multicultural Award from George Washington University for his work at the Whitman-Walker Health Clinic in SE Washington D.C. and the Children's National Medical Center in the cancer/hematology wind. Prior to his clinical work, Conway earned an MFA from Southern Methodist University in scenic and costume design. Conway worked as a design assistant on a variety of Broadway shows, ballets, and operas. Conway is a former member of IATSE-Local 829 NYC as a scenic and costume designer.

This event is only open to active SAG-AFTRA members in good standing (paid through April 30, 2025 or Oct. 31, 2025). No guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome.
