2020 TV/Theatrical Contracts Vote Yes banner

Dear SAG-AFTRA New Mexico Local Member,

I hope you all are doing well during these trying times. Right now, there are a lot of unknowns about when we will go back to work. I think about them daily, and I know you do as well.
Yet, when we do go back to work — and we will — we will have a historic contract to help us get back on our feet, to the tune of $318 million dollars.
Heading into negotiations, our leadership knew that we had to focus not only on how our industry works now, but how it will function going forward. The 26% increase in fixed streaming residuals over the first three years is what we have all been wanting. We got it!
Our pension and health plans got a much-needed boost: $97 million for the next three years, which includes a $54 million increase for the health plan.
As everyone knows, not all contracts are about money. They are also about safety and mutual respect. That is why the revisions made to the nudity, simulated sex and sexual harassment provisions are just as vital. We made huge improvements to ensure our members feel safe at auditions and on set.

There are many other important gains in our contract; you can find out more at sagaftra.org/contracts2020. Anyone who is interested can also attend an online informational meeting to discuss these details on Tuesday, July 14, at 3 p.m. MDT. Click here for details and to RSVP.
All eligible members were mailed a postcard on July 1 with a PIN number and instructions on how to vote online or how to request a paper ballot. If you don’t have your PIN, you may retrieve it at the voting website. Whether submitted online or by mail, ballots must be received by 5 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
I will be voting YES on this contract and hope you will too!
In solidarity,
Marc Comstock
President, New Mexico Local
