Atlanta Mayor Andrew Dickens is hosting Film Day 2025 celebrating Georgia's Film Industry.

Let’s come together to celebrate our industry and advocate for the future of film and media in our state. Your presence and energy will make a difference. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow SAG-AFTRA members, engage with the public, and show our collective strength alongside film partners and industry stakeholders.

SAG-AFTRA will have a table in City Hall to answer questions and share information about the Union. 



The Atlanta Local Conservatory Presents: Finding the Funny

The Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson SAG-AFTRA Conservatory presents: Finding the Funny; An interactive evening with Mary Lou Belli

This event is open to 50 members. The first 25 to sign up will work directly with Mary Lou as participants. These 25 participants will receive sides in a separate email from the Atlanta Local. The remaining 25 members will be there to observe. There will be a wait list. If you must cancel, you must do so prior to 24 hours of the event so another member may participate. Doors will close at 8:05 p.m. No one will be admitted after that time out of respect for our presenter and all participants. 

Mary Lou Belli, a two-time Emmy award-winner, has been directing television for over 30 years in many genres from sitcoms to procedurals to documentaries including Elsbeth, NCIS New Orleans, Sweet Magnolias, Black Lightning, Bull, Legacies, Station 19, Monk, Famous In Love, Devious Maids, The Quad, American Woman, and Hart of Dixie as well as Disney’s The Secret of Sulphur Springs and Wizards of Waverly Place as well as  Sister Sister, Girlfriends, and The Game. She’s been nominated three times for Primetime Emmy for Comedy Directing of The Ms. Pat Show. She also received another Emmy nomination in 2022 in the Children’s Programming category.

Through her teaching, she supports many of the vibrant diversity programs. She’s the co-author of four books: The NEW Sitcom Career Book, Acting for Young Actors, PERFORM: Acting for the Screen and Directors Tell the Story.  Currently, she’s a governor for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. 

In addition, if you are a “no-show,” per Conservatory rules, you will be exempted from any events for the following month. 

Free parking. Signs will be posted. 

Our Conservatory will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Community Pantry at Georgia Stand Up.

SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local Meet-up

With spring quickly approaching, what a great time to come out for a SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local meet-up and spend time with some old friends and new faces. It's the perfect chance to unwind, mingle, have a bite and enjoy SocialBites' drink specials. 

Each member is responsible for their own food and drink. Free parking. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Atlanta Local Conservatory: An Evening with Local VO Agents and Casting Directors

The SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local Muriel Moore/Danny Nelson Conservatory in conjunction with the SAG-AFTRA Atlanta Local Voiceover Committee invite you to an evening with local VO agents and casting directors.

 

Panelists will include agent Laura Magner from the Alexander White Agency, agent Caila Cordwell from AMT, casting director, writer, director Caroline Slaughter and casting director Rita Harrell from Big Picture Casting.

 

Attendees will enjoy a panel discussion with industry guests intended to provide insight and advice pertaining to the local voiceover market in Atlanta. Our panelists will discuss the opportunities available in the local market, explaining the process from breakdown, to submission, audition to booking. A short Q&A session will follow that will give attendees an opportunity to ask questions of some of the leading professionals in the Atlanta voice over market. 

 

60 members will participate. There will be a waitlist. If you must cancel, you must do so prior to 24 hours of the event so another member may participate. Doors will close at 7:05 p.m. No one will be admitted after that time out of respect for our panelists and participants.

Atlanta Local SAG Awards Viewing Party

Celebrate with your fellow members at the Atlanta Local viewing party of the 31th Annual SAG Awards.

The awards show, streaming on Netflix, begins at 8 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. A pre-show begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

The party is free to members of the Atlanta Local in good standing plus one guest. Dessert will be served. Cash bar and additional concessions are available for purchase. Attire is casual.

Registration is now open and is required for all members. There is limited seating so registration will be first come, first served with a wait list. You must be logged in to see the form below.
