PART 2: BRAIN
Monday, Feb. 12 6 - 8pm 

Derive meaning and purpose from 2023. Bring your calendar, social media, photos from the year, your journal, or anything else that you can review from last year. What were you grateful for? What lessons did you learn? What growth did you experience through the challenges of the year? What deeper truths did you realize? Who did you become in 2023? Join us to set intentions for how you'd like to feel in 2024!

Courtney Rioux is an actor, coach, and podcast host living in Chicago. And now a mother! As an actor, you may have seen her most recently as Paramedic Courtney on eight seasons of Chicago Med, heard her voice on a Jimmy Dean commercial, or seen her as the Spokesperson for Hot Shot. Courtney can also be seen in Marlyne Barrett's film, Haimerican. Courtney is also an advocate for actors. She hosts the podcast The Whole Artist with Courtney Rioux. She coaches actors who feel stuck in their lives and careers. Finally, she serves on the National Board for Sag-Aftra, the most recent TV/Theatrical negotiating committee, as well as her Chicago Local Board. The SAG-AFTRA New York Local is inviting all members who work the Producer–SAG-AFTRA Television Animation Agreement to a wages and working conditions (“W&W”) meeting in preparation for the upcoming negotiations. The TV Animation Agreement expired on June 30, 2023 with an extension to January 31, 2024.

Proposals for this negotiation are developed through the involvement of members like you. Make your voice heard and participate in this very important process. Meetings are open to all paid-up SAG-AFTRA members*.

WHERE: Meetings will be held by Zoom. You must have a Zoom account that identifies you by name to participate.

The 2024 Hawaii Legislative Session will begin next month, and there may be communications in the coming weeks asking the membership to consider submitting testimony on bills that directly affect our members and the Film/TV/Digital Media industry.  

The Hawaii Local Legislative Committee will host an informational session for those interested in learning more about the Hawaii Legislative process on Tuesday, January 9, 2023, from 12 pm-1:30 pm. 

Registration is required; Hawaii members and pre-members are invited to attend.

Led by Lorenzo Rodriguez, this class is interactive and will cover topics that include:

• How to select the right monologue that fits you;

• How to prepare and perform your monologue and prepare for your audition.

You will have an opportunity to perform a monologue or scene and receive feedback. Monologues and scenes will be provided. However, you may bring your own 1-3 minute monologue or scene.

Lorenzo Rodriguez Bio: Lorenzo Rodriguez has acted in film, television and theater since the 1980s. He works in San Diego and Los Angeles. Lorenzo is the CEO of Premier Acting Consulting; he coaches actors in perfecting their craft, career and the business side of the entertainment industry. He studied the acting methods of Stanislavski, Meisner and many more. Lorenzo is the acting coach and one of the lead characters in the web series Private Investigations. Film credits include The Ramona Doll, in which he acted and directed.
