The Los Angeles Background Actors Education & Outreach Subcommittee proudly presents the first ever Background Actors Resource Fair! No RSVP needed. Join us in the James Cagney Boardroom anytime between 11 a.m.—1 p.m. to speak one on one with a variety of organizations that benefit all aspects of the background actors’ life: career, health, finances and much more.

Audiobooks For Actors: A Conversation with Ann Richardson and Simon Vance

Thousands of audiobooks are produced annually in all areas of the country, and audiobooks have become one of the fastest growing areas for SAG-AFTRA coverage. For many performers, this has become a rewarding acting career, complete with stable wages, health and retirement contributions and the support of an active SAG-AFTRA narrator community. But where do you start, how do you grow, and how far can you go in this booming industry? Join this in-depth conversation with two of the industry’s top voices, Simon Vance and Ann Richardson, along with SAG-AFTRA National Director, Organizing Steve Sidawi. This event is moderated by Bob Butler, SAG-AFTRA National Board member, KCBS broadcast journalist and executive director of Butler Media.

Game Night at the Kaufherr Center - Presented by NextGen

The SAG-AFTRA NextGen Performers Committee presents our next monthly Game Night at the Kaufherr Center!

For the month of August, we'll be playing those good and true board games! Friends are welcome to join our members, so bring your plus ones or twos. It'll be an evening of fun and community at the Kaufherr Center. Feel free to bring snacks of your own to share as well as your own board games! Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

NextGen Performers is a new Chicago Local committee devoted to helping the next generation of SAG-AFTRA performers develop their careers, utilize the amazing resources of SAG-AFTRA and connect with other union members.

SAG-AFTRA National Ethnic Employment Opportunities Committee & Writers Guild of America West invite members to a free networking mixer while celebrating the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, the premiere international Latino film festival in Los Angeles July 31 - August 4, 2019. We welcome SAG-AFTRA members, as well as writers, producers, filmmakers and casting directors to join the cast and crew of the LALIFF films to mix and mingle. 

There will be a complimentary, sponsored beer and wine for the first hour and light hors d’oeuvres during the entire event. Don’t forget your business cards!
