Join your fellow SAG-AFTRA members for the November 2023 Washington-Mid Atlantic Local Virtual Membership Meeting to hear about the latest news and updates.

The meeting will be followed immediately by a discussion with Jane Love, National Director, Audiobooks, and Richard Larkin, Executive Director/Labor Counsel, News and Broadcast. Jane and Richard will discuss all things Audiobooks, how members can best utilize the Union to get into the exciting world of Audiobooks, as well as answer any questions members might have. Please come prepared with questions for Jane and Richard.

Members will have the opputunity to learn and ask questions of elected representatives and staff. We hope to see you there!

New England members, please join your union brothers and sisters to hear a strike update from local leaders, including Tom Kemp, Vice-Chair of the TV/Theatrical/Streaming Negotiating Committee.  There will be ample time for Q&A. 

Please wear your SAG-AFTRA T-shirt, if you have one. Limited quantities will be available to those that don’t yet have a shirt.

The Boston Teachers Union space is within walking distance of the JFK stop on the Red Line. There is also ample parking.

Join us for the annual New Orleans Local Membership Meeting. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for check-in and light refreshments.

This year’s meeting begins with a casting director panel featuring Brent Caballero, Liz Coulon, Ryan Glorioso and Meagan Lewis.

The second hour includes a report from TV/Theatrical/Streaming Negotiating Committee member David Joliffe, who is also the Los Angeles Local second vice president and a national board member.

Elected New Orleans Local representatives and staff will also give reports and members will have an opportunity to ask questions of all speakers.

Door prizes donated by local board members will be given away. Plus there will be union swag and helpful informational handouts.

Join us for the annual Arizona-Utah Local Membership Meeting in Arizona on Saturday, November 4 starting with check-in and breakfast at 9:30 a.m.

The meeting agenda includes updates from elected Arizona-Utah Local representatives and staff. Lisha Brock, director of locals administration, will give a presentation on “How To Flip That Job Union!” There will be time for Q&A and member feedback.

We will have a pinning ceremony for new members who have joined in the past five years and a special welcome to members who transferred into the local recently as well. If you are new to SAG-AFTRA or the Arizona-Utah Local, we extend a special invitation to you!

Please join us for the San Diego Local Membership Meeting. We will cover 2023 Election Nominations and present local reports from elected leaders. Light refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the official meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Nominations will be accepted from the floor at the membership meeting. The following San Diego Local positions are up for election this year:

National Board Member (4-year term)
President (2-year term)
Vice President (2-year term)
Secretary (2-year term)
Five (5) Local Board members (2-year term)
Six (6) Convention Delegates (2-year term)

Members may also run by petition for any of these positions. The official notice of nomination and election was mailed to members of the San Diego Local on May 5. SAG-AFTRA will be conducting a national wages and working conditions (W&W) meeting in preparation for the 2023 SAG-AFTRA–Big Shows, Inc. Agreement negotiations. The Big Shows, Inc. Agreement covers specials and awards shows produced for Viacom Media Networks on basic cable (MTV Awards, Video Music Awards, etc.)

If you have worked under this agreement please join your fellow members to discuss issues you’d like to see addressed in the upcoming negotiations. Your participation is vital!

When: Wednesday, May 10, 10 am-12 pm PT/11am-1pm MT/12 pm-2 pm CT/1 pm-3 pm ET
