The SAG-AFTRA San Francisco-Northern California Conservatory presents a two-hour workshop on commercial auditioning. Learn to identify the specific actions that will help book the job. Bring a current headshot and resume and come camera ready.

  • Participants will be randomly selected from those who respond, with preference being given to those who have not attended Conservatory events within the past 3 months.

Shari Carlson coaches individuals within a group setting to become masters of their instrument. She has been involved in the entertainment business as an actor, director, casting director and producer for over 30 years in Hollywood and San Francisco. A successful entrepreneur, Shari is also the Creative Director and founder of the Best Actors (in a) Film Festival established in San Francisco. This niche festival is focused on rewarding talented actors for their creative performances. Shari has owned and operated the production company, Imaginative Productions, since 2006, producing award winning music videos, films and plays.

A Voiceover Workshop with Sally Clawson

The SAG-AFTRA San Francisco-Northern California Conservatory Presents: Voice coach Sally Clawson offering one-on-one training in this introductory voiceover workshop.

Sally Clawson, owner of Voice One Training, has over 20 years of experience as a voice teacher, speech coach, actor, and performer. A former professional dancer, Ms. Clawson toured internationally with the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company. After a hip injury, she took a day job answering phones, discovered her voice, and began studying at Voice One.

Sally now teaches classes and workshops in voice, acting, presenting and performing all over the Bay Area, including Berkeley Repertory School of Theater, Google Arts, and California Shakespeare Theater. In addition, Sally is a certified executive coach through the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, and is the annual emcee at the Dreamforce conference hosted by Salesforce.

Sally’s voiceover performances include: Yoplait, Clorox, Toyota, Old Navy, McDonalds, Pixar, Apple, Google, Microsoft, EA Games, Telltale Games and Lucas Film to name a few.

This workshop is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing — no guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome. SAG-AFTRA members, please bring your membership card or your digital card on your app for admittance, paid thru Oct. 31, 2019.

NARS Cosmetics Presents: Basic Beauty & Looking Your Best for Your Audition (Evening)

The SAG-AFTRA L.A. Local is pleased to invite you to attend a special seminar hosted by NARS Cosmetics. This special presentation is intended to provide information about basic beauty, current makeup trends and techniques. The demonstration will include application methods on how to create your best face and will be facilitated by NARS Artists, featuring NARS Senior Artist Alix Mimran.

Please note that you are only allowed to RSVP for either the 4:30-5:30pm session OR the 6:30-7:30pm event. Failure to comply will result in removal from BOTH RSVP lists.

Join us for a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the submission and selection process that casting directors use to set up auditions. Watch live on-screen demonstrations of how submissions are reviewed by casting directors, see why certain profiles stand out (or, are skipped over) and learn how to avoid the most common “mistakes” that keep actors out of the audition room. Taught by Blair Hickey and Brian Wold.
