Join us for this Pau Hana information session and Talk Story event featuring SAG-AFTRA National Director, Background Actors Fatna Sallak-Williams. We will have an in-depth presentation of background actors’ contractual rights under the SAG-AFTRA Television and Theatrical Agreement. A short mixer with refreshments and a Talk Story panel with industry professionals will follow. Learn what it means to be “camera ready” from the dressing room to the set!

Fatna Sallak-Williams is the national director of the SAG-AFTRA Background Actors Department, with more than 17 years experience in labor relations. She has worked as a business representative for the union’s San Francisco office, a case manager for the SAG-AFTRA Legal Department, as well as a senior manager of the SAG-AFTRA Theatrical Contracts Department.  

Shayne Hartigan is a casting director with Sande Alessi Casting who has worked on shows including Kong Skull Island, 12 Strong, and WACO. Hartigan began his career in Hawaii with the team at Hawaii Five-0, and after training under Rachel Sutton at Hawaii Five-0, he started his own venture leading to a longtime partnership with Sande Alessi.

Chantal Boomla has been in the makeup and hair industry for over 30 years and in the union (IATSE 665) for about 25 years. Boomla has worked on most of the feature films and television shows that have come to Hawaii.

Charley Kaeo is a longtime costumer on movie, TV and commercial sets and is also on the Executive Board of IATSE Local 665.

Sean Douglas Hoban is a longtime SAG-AFTRA member, and now Background Set PA and 2nd AD.

This workshop is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing (paid thru April 30, 2019)— no guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome. SAG-AFTRA members, please bring your membership card for admittance. Panelists are subject to change without notification.
