Where:

What do you know about image manipulation and voice cloning technologies, such as deepfakes artificial intelligence? Do you believe you have rights to your voice in audiobooks and video games? Do you believe that after you pass away, corporations should be given a pass to exploit your image or voice without consent or compensation? March up Fifth Avenue with SAG-AFTRA New York Local President Rebecca Damon and members of the SAG-AFTRA New York Local on Saturday, Sept. 8 to demonstrate your support for image and voice rights legislation. Together we can add digital image rights to the long list of rights enjoyed by all Americans courtesy of unions: collective bargaining rights, overtime pay, and child labor laws, to name a few. Remember to tag #ProtectMyImage, #ProtectMyVoice, #sagaftramember and #LDP2018 when you post on social media. We’ll see you there!

When: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8 (Please note that the parade takes place the weekend after Labor Day.)

  • Assemble at 9:15 a.m.
  • Step off at 10:00 a.m.

Where: We have a new assembly location this year: East 44th Street between Fifth and Vanderbilt Avenues. Look for the SAG-AFTRA banner.

Showing union solidarity is critically important right now. The theme of the parade is “NYC is a Union Town.” No one shows the world how New York leads the way like our members do in front of cameras and behind microphones across America.

Free SAG-AFTRA t-shirts will be available first-come, first-served while supplies last. Members must sign-in at the meeting location to receive a t-shirt. Please bring your SAG-AFTRA ID card (paid through Oct. 31, 2018). Members carrying the banner must wear a current SAG-AFTRA t-shirt.

Light refreshments will be served.

Also, a limited supply of grandstand tickets will be available first-come, first-served for pickup at the assembly location.
