● Brief description:
We welcome people with disabilities, their caretakers, and allies of all abilities. Melanie is an experienced adaptive yoga teacher and has been serving the disabled population since 2017, in the years following her journey with limb loss. Her passion for sharing an adaptive practice stems from the healing that meditation brought her throughout her limb loss journey.

Whether this is your first yoga class or one of many, in the journey of your practice, we can meet you right where you are! Who is this class for? Anyone! Whether you're disabled/live with a disability, are an ally or caretaker--this program is for you!

VIRTUAL CLASSES
What you'll need:
● A streaming device with wifi or cell service.
● Some Space to move around. ANY LEVEL: Try practicing from a chair, a bed, or from your
couch!
● Comfy clothes to move around in
● Yoga mat/blanket
● Optional Props: Pillows, Blocks, Straps, Blanket, Towel
 

IF THERE ARE ANY SPECIFIC ACCESS NEEDS THAT YOU MAY HAVE--- your information will not
be shared, this is just information to let our teaching team know what to have prepared and to help
us prevent any discomfort or injury--Please feel free to email me at adaptingyoga@gmail.com.

Philadelphia Local New Member Orientation

New to SAG-AFTRA and the Philadelphia Local? 

To all members who have never attended a new member orientation, or for members who would like a refresher on SAG-AFTRA: You are invited to our semi-annual new member orientation.

When: Wednesday, January 22- 6-7 p.m. ET

Where: Via Zoom

This meeting will be held via Zoom invite. Credentials will be sent through the reservation confirmation email as soon as you RSVP. 

This meeting is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing (paid through April 30, 2022). Unfortunately, no guests allowed. Parents/guardians of younger performers under 18 years old are welcome. RSVP is required for attendance.

Washington-Mid Atlantic Mental Health Group Meeting

Please join the Washington-Mid Atlantic Mental Health Group in a monthly group session to discuss the challenges that you might face in your personal and professional life. The group session is a safe space where you will have the opportunity to explore your emotions, gain insights, learn about yourself, and, if time permits, get caring, sympathetic and empathetic support from your peers. Active participation in a group session can encourage good mental health and be a great healing tool as you can help others as you help yourself.

Group will be moderated by SAG-AFTRA member Nicole Hakim Yohn. Nicole is a Peer  Recovery Specialist for depression and an experienced group moderator. She has  studied under Craig Hedley CPRS; renowned DBT expert Lane Pederson Psy. D. LP C DBT; EMDR under Megan Boardman LSCW, ACADC, CCT P-11, EMDR-C;  PHD expert in CBT Charles Jacob; DBT under Katelyn Baxter-Musser, MSWCBT, C DBT, C-EMDR, and trauma under international trauma expert Janina Fisher, PHD.
