May 08, 2025 - 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM CDT

Where: Online via Zoom

Ever wonder what drives a film production team to locate their project in Tennessee? What are the incentives for Tennessee based projects? How can we support these programs?

Well, there’s the wealth of professional talent, access to experienced technical crews, beautiful scenery and great weather, of course. But, state-based financial incentives are also instrumental in sealing the deal. This webinar will help Members understand the monetary advantages available to productions that make Tennessee their choice and will suggest ways that members may support and benefit from these initiatives.

Bob Raines, Executive Director of the Tennessee Entertainment Commission (TEC) will be providing a behind the scenes look at the world of tax credits and exemptions available to production companies in Tennessee and the policies and procedures that surround their use. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from the state’s thought leader in creating economic development with the entertainment industry.

Topics and takeaways will include:
> The current state of incentives
> An outline of the programs - what are the basics?
> Policies and Procedures
> How does a producer qualify and apply? How does in state hiring fit?
> Are there upcoming legislative efforts that may enhance the Programs?
> How can SAG-AFTRA members support those legislative efforts and incentive programs?
> Do’s and Don’ts
> What do the next five years look like for production in Tennessee?

A Q&A will follow!

About the Guest:
Bob Raines is the Executive Director of the Tennessee Entertainment Commission (TEC). He was appointed by the Governor in 2012 to lead all economic development and job creation initiatives within TN’s entertainment sector.
