SAG-AFTRA Chicago Conservatory Presents:
Tools To Get Unstuck: An interactive workshop exploring approaches to get out of your own way! 

Uh-oh, you’re preparing or taping an audition and you get stuck. Don’t panic! Just come to our workshop to try out some fresh ways to reset, refocus and rediscover your material.

Participants will volunteer to perform a scene from TV/Film or commercial copy and test the impact that music, timing, and physical states have on our work. You’ll make adjustments in real time and see how it changes your creative process. Whether you choose to perform or observe in the audience, you’ll leave with simple tools to pull out whenever you’re feeling stuck and want to find a new way through.

Are you an actor navigating the world of low-budget film projects? Understanding contracts is crucial not only for protecting your rights and ensuring fair compensation but also for guiding independent filmmakers on how to hire you under a union contract. Join us for an informative Zoom workshop designed to equip members with the knowledge they need to confidently understand low-budget film contracts. 

This videoconference program is the first in a series of three presented by the Committee of Locals to empower members in the locals outside Los Angeles and New York.

• Staff Presentation: Our expert staff will walk you through the essential components of low-budget film contracts, highlighting key clauses and answering your questions. You'll also learn how to use resources on sagaftra.org to guide independent filmmakers on the process of hiring you, ensuring that both you and the production are in compliance with union rules. 
• Member Panelist Discussion: Hear from experienced members who have successfully navigated low budget agreements. Our panelists will share real-world insights, offer practical advice, and answer your questions.
