Join us on June 3 from 6-8pm for the SAG-AFTRA Chicago Conservatory presention "I BOOKED IT" - an evening that showcases how Chicago's very own are getting it done. From self-tapes to working the TV/film landscapes, we'll be showcasing, gaining insight, and highlighting actors who've crossed the threshold from their self tape to final take. SAG-AFTRA Chicago will be participating in Chicago's Pride Parade with the Chicago Federation of Labor. 

The parade steps off at 11 a.m. at W. Sheridan and N. Broadway, continues south along Broadway, then Halsted, east along Belmont to Broadway, then south to Diversey.

Participants can either sit on the float or march alongside it, though participants should plan on doing some walking as there is limited space on the float. There will also be a live DJ on the float providing music for our participants and spectators. 

Tens of thousands of people are expected to pack the parade route, which starts in the landmark LGBTQ+ neighborhood of Northalsted and wraps up in Lincoln Park. This year, 150 contingents will march under the theme Pride is Power.

The Illinois AFL-CIO is teaming up with labor activists across the country to discuss the important of mental health equity. Join them for a Zoom webinar from 4-5:15 p.m. CT on May 15 to discuss the importance of access to mental health care and resources union members can draw on to sustain the labor movement. The place to be on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month is NextGen Game Night at the KRC! Games begin at 6 p.m., and we keep going until the last person drops (or 9 p.m.!)

In an effort to resurrect the Young Performers Committee, we will be holding 2 brainstorming/informational meetings on Monday, May 13th at 1:00 pm and Monday, May 20th at 3:00 pm.  Parents need to only attend one or the other.  

The goal for these meetings is to create an agenda for the upcoming year for educational seminars and events for parents and Young Performers.  If you are unable to attend, but have ideas, and/or want to be included in future meetings, please contact Kathy.Byrne@sagaftra.org.

Please join us for the 2024 Chicago Local Annual Membership Meeting! It's a fun time to get to build community and network with your fellow SAG-AFTRA members and learn more about what's happening in our local and national union.

We will have opportunities to win swag, light hors d’oeuvres during social hour, and Executive Vice President of SAG-AFTRA, Linda Powell, as our special guest.

Social hour reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting and guest panel will start at 7 p.m.
