AFTRA Retirement Fund Webinar

The AFTRA Retirement Fund will be presenting an informational update for SAG-AFTRA members on:

Tuesday, December 15, at 10:30 a.m. PT /11:30 a.m. MT / 12:30 p.m. CT / 1:30 p.m. ET

Whether you're receiving benefits now or will be at some point in the future, join us to hear how the Retirement Fund is safeguarding pension benefits for current vested participants and those who may vest in the future.

AFTRA Retirement Fund trustees, actuaries and staff will share information on how it works, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the positive outlook for the Fund.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session where you can ask your retirement-related questions.

The AFTRA Retirement Fund is a separate organization from the union. For detailed information please visit www.aftraretirement.org.

Please join the President’s Task Force on Education, Outreach & Engagement for Understanding Residuals for SAG-AFTRA Performers, a presentation and discussion of how members earn TV/Theatrical and New Media residuals through their work on SAG-AFTRA contracts. This presentation will focus on television, theatrical and new media residuals; a presentation on commercials residuals will be scheduled for a later date.

This conversation may be a first for young performers, or a refresher for our more seasoned members. We’ll cover what residuals are, how compensation is paid to performers for use of a theatrical motion picture or television program beyond the use covered by initial compensation, when residuals are paid, how residuals are calculated, how to track them and much more.

Scene Study & Character Development Workshop

Join us for the Arizona-Utah Local Conservatory's Acting Workshop from All or Nothing (AON) Acting Studio.

SAG-AFTRA member Romeo Brown will be leading fellow members through his AON Conservatory Acting Workshop - an immersive, high-energy experience designed to push actors beyond their comfort zones while refining their instincts, presence, and storytelling abilities.

This workshop will focus on:
• Scene work & emotional depth – Actors will break down scenes using the 5W’s (Who, What, Where, When, and Why) to build authentic, dynamic performances.
• Improv & adaptability – Strengthening an actor’s ability to respond truthfully and spontaneously in the moment.
• Character exploration & ownership – Using HAIL (Honesty, Authenticity, Integrity, Love) to develop compelling character choices.

Please join us for the SAG-AFTRA Arizona-Utah Regional Commercials Code Review & Recommendations meeting on Friday, May 9, noon-1:30 pm AZ / 1-2:30 pm UT. 

The Regional Commercials Code is tailored specifically to meet the needs of local and regional advertisers so they may easily hire SAG-AFTRA members at competitive rates and with flexible terms. If you’ve previously worked under the Arizona-Utah Regional Commercials Code, or have interest in working this agreement, we encourage you to attend this meeting. It’s a great opportunity to make your voice heard and provide feedback as we review the current Regional Code provisions and consider any changes.

The Arizona-Utah Local LGBTQ+ Committee invites our local membership to gather for our monthly meetup at the Lavender Farm Tour in Chandler.
