Miami Action Design Gym Workshop

Celebrate Women's History Month with a workshop at Miami Action Design Gym on March 28, 2025 from 6-9 p.m. ET.

Gym co-owners and stunt community members Yessenia Cossio and Christopher Bogdanksi Shore will be conducting interactive demonstrations for people of all ages. Cossio and Shore have previously worked on blockbuster films Dune 2, Bad Boys: Ride or Die and Black Panther 2.  

Light bites and refreshments will be served.  Please come in comfortable attire as the workshop is interactive and you will be encouraged to be physically active.

This event is open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing (paid through April 30, 2025). No guests are allowed. Parents/guardians of performers under 18 years old are welcome.

Kids and Teens Day at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation

Calling all teen and kid SAG-AFTRA members! The SAG-AFTRA New York Young Performers Committee invites you to Kids and Teens Day at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. Come camera-ready for a fun-filled day of programming and classes in the SAG-AFTRA Foundation On-Camera and Voiceover Labs. Activities will include group sessions with a professional agent, casting director and photographer:

  • Free Headshots from Headshot Photographer Rex Lott
  • Casting Access Class with Casting Director Carolyn Volpe 
  • Voiceover Casting Class with Casting Director Angela Mickey

Parents will have a separate line of programming including a presentation about the many services offered by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation and tutorials in the On-Camera and Voiceover Labs.

Breakfast and lunch will be served.

SAG-AFTRA Low Budget Contracts Simplified

Are you a filmmaker looking to understand SAG-AFTRA contracts? This presentation is designed to help you gain insights into the essential aspects of our low budget film agreements. It's a perfect opportunity to learn directly from SAG-AFTRA staff, ask your burning questions, and connect with fellow filmmakers. Beverages and light refreshments will be provided.

Don’t miss this chance to enhance your understanding of our contracts so you can cast SAG-AFTRA professionals in your next project. We look forward to seeing you there!

Resilient Young Performers: Thriving in a Changing Industry

Young Performers have a lot to navigate - changing technologies not only impact the way they learn and interact with their peers, but as working professionals, it impacts the way they navigate a constantly changing industry. Join the SAG-AFTRA New York Young Performers Committee for a mentoring workshop about how to remain resilient and adapt to a continually evolving professional environment.  

The morning will feature a seminar presented by the Entertainment Community Fund Looking Ahead program on how to handle rejection, followed by a hands-on activity. In the afternoon, young performers will work with Casting Director Robin Carus, for the opportunity to flip the script and learn about what it’s like to sit on the other side of the table with a casting professional. 

Parents will have a separate line of programming including a presentation about the stages of child development and information about the young performer provisions and new provisions of the most recently negotiated TV/Theatrical/Streaming Contract.
