2023 NYC Pride March

Jun 25, 2023 - 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM EDT

Where: Assemble on W 31st Street Between 6th Ave and 5th Ave. (Approach from 6th) - look for the SAG-AFTRA banner.

Join the SAG-AFTRA LGBTQ Committee, fellow members, and allies on Sunday, June 25 behind our SAG-AFTRA banner during the NYC Pride March! Due to a strict headcount by the parade organizers, we need all members interested in joining the SAG-AFTRA contingent to register by filling out the RSVP form below. Members can bring up to one guest. Further information on when and where to meet will be emailed to you along with instructions. Complimentary SAG-AFTRA Pride T-Shirts are limited and will be available for members on a first-come, first-served basis.

When: Sunday, June 25, Meet at 11:30 a.m. Parade steps off at Noon.

RSVP: Reservations are required. Please complete the form below to RSVP; you must be logged in to RSVP.  The field to add a guest appears at the top of the RSVP form (above the fields to enter your first and last name). You must change the Guest count to "1" in order to bring a guest.

Please note that SAG-AFTRA will be taking photographs and videos at the event which might be used in our publications, social media, and to promote the union and its activities. You and any guests attending with you might appear in the photos and by attending with SAG-AFTRA's group you agree to these uses. Red Hot Headshot Event

Aug 26, 2023 - 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM CDT

Where: Photographers' Studios

We are preparing for a headshot event.  SAG-AFTRA Chicago members will be given an opportunity at a discounted headshot at a local headshot photographers' studio. The headshot session will be a 1/2 hour session for 1 look.  If you are interested in reserving a session, please RSVP below.  Once we have a list of photographers and appointment times, you will be given an opportunity to specify your choice.

NextGen Performers WGA Picket Line Meet-Up

Where: CBS Radford, 4024 Radford Ave, Studio City, CA 91604

When: Friday, June 2nd from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. PT
Stay for the whole time or as long as you’re able!

The SAG-AFTRA LA NextGen Performers Committee (NGP) would love to invite you to join a picket mobilization meet-up on Friday, June 2nd to show solidarity with the WGA. 

Meet up and get to know fellow SAG-AFTRA members while we demonstrate support for the WGA in their fight for a fair and equitable contract. While the event is hosted by the NGP Committee (Millennial and Gen Z SAG-AFTRA members, we’re looking at you!) all SAG-AFTRA members are welcome to join our meetup! 

Where: CBS Radford, 4024 Radford Ave, Studio City, CA 91604  (Colfax near Gate C)
When you arrive, look for SAG-AFTRA staff to check in and receive a picket sign and t-shirt - first come, first served. 

What to Bring: Your SAG-AFTRA member ID card (or download the SAG-AFTRA app to show your digital card), a SAG-AFTRA T-shirt if you have one, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, and a rainbow item in honor of Pride Week (hats, scarves, umbrellas, etc) to really make our photos pop!

Help us spread the word and bring a friend! All are welcome to attend, but only SAG-AFTRA members in good standing can receive a t-shirt and picket sign.

Be sure to show your solidarity on social media by posting photos from the event using the hashtags:  #IAmNGP, #sagaftramember and #1u. And be sure to follow and tag us in your instagram stories at @nextgenperformers and @sagaftra!

REMINDERS: 

  • If you are contracted to work on a television series or motion picture that continues to produce while the WGA is on strike, you are obligated by your personal service agreement and the “No Strike” clause in our collective bargaining agreements to go to work. You can continue to audition for work and accept new work if you choose to do so.  
  • SAG-AFTRA members should not perform the duties covered by WGA contracts. You should not write anything normally written by striking WGA writers.
  • Finally, we must support our fellow SAG-AFTRA members on every set even if they have to cross a picket line to get to work. The WGA is aware of the requirements of our No Strike clause and our members’ individual personal service agreements, and the fact that the labor law protections that apply to striking workers do not apply to other workers whose contracts are still in effect.


2023 LA Pride Parade

Where: Hollywood Boulevard

Join the SAG-AFTRA LGBTQ Committee, fellow members, and allies on Sunday, June 11, as we march behind our SAG-AFTRA banner during the LA Pride Parade! The parade starts at 11 a.m. in Hollywood and will be on Hollywood Blvd. (between Highland Ave. and Cahuenga Blvd). Due to a strict headcount by the parade organizers, we need all members interested in marching with our contingent to register by filling out the RSVP form below. Further information on when and where to meet will be emailed to you along with instructions on how to get a complimentary SAG-AFTRA Pride T-Shirt.

 

When: Sunday, June 11, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Where: Between Highland Ave. and Cahuenga Blvd. along Hollywood Blvd. The SAG-AFTRA meeting point will be provided after you RSVP.

How to Support: Remember, you don’t have to attend in person to participate. You may show your support on social media, using the hashtags #PRIDE and #SAGAFTRAMEMBERS particularly during the march on Sunday.

Picking Up T-Shirts in Advance

We have a limited amount of t-shirts this year. Some will be available for members to pick up in advance and the rest to be distributed at the Pride Parade. If you plan to pick up your t-shirt in advance, please complete the Google Form linked in your email confirmation after you RSVP.

T-shirts may be picked up June 7 – 9, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 2 – 4 p.m. from the Frank Maxwell Room (Lobby Level) at the SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles office located at 5757 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA  90036. Parking is free with validation (entrance off Curson Ave. or Masselin Ave).

LPTW Oral History: Tamara Tunie

SAG-AFTRA members are invited to join the League of Professional Theater Women at this free event.

Tamara Tunie will be interviewed about her long and brilliant career as a TV/ film star, theatre performer, and theatre producer/director. David Gordon, Editor-in-Chief of TheaterMania.com and President of the Outer Critics Circle will conduct the interview. This event, which is open to the public, is part of the League of Professional Theatre Women’s (LPTW) Oral History Interviews Program in partnership with the library and is a highlight of LPTW’s 40 th Anniversary Celebration.

WGA L.A. Strike Locations

May Day Coalition March 2023

May 01, 2023 - 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM PDT

Where: Corner of Olympic Blvd & Broadway

On Monday, May 1, Los Angeles workers and community groups will march to demonstrate power in solidarity and support the right to unionize and strike, the right to housing and the right to citizenship - which is this year's May Day theme. Join us in our SAG-AFTRA contingent as we march in the streets on International Workers Day. 

When: Monday, May 1
Where: Please meet at the corner of Broadway and Olympic Blvd. Make sure to look for the SAG-AFTRA banner. 

***Please bring your SAG-AFTRA T-shirt or wear black.

PROGRAM:
4 p.m. - Gathering
4:30 p.m. - Program Begins
5 p.m. - March Begins

FOR MARCHERS

  • The march will begin from Olympic Blvd & Broadway. Make sure to look for the SAG-AFTRA banner.
  • We will march Northbound on Broadway Blvd.
  • We will then make a right on 1st Street.
  • Next we will make a Left on North Spring Street which is between the Los Angeles City Hall Steps and Grand Park.
  • We will march into North Spring Street, set up the flatbed truck and begin the Closing Program. (Total march route distance is 1.3 miles).
  • Public Transportation
  • We highly encourage marchers to take the Metro Blue/Expo Line and exit the Pico Station stop. There is a short 0.7 mile walk from the Pico station to Olympic & Broadway Blvd. Look for the flatbed truck, signs and banners for May Day on Spring Street
