On March 20, the N.Y. Local Military Committee hosted a presentation at the SAG-AFTRA New York office led by New York City Veterans Services. Members were able to mingle with the committee and hear about the resources and benefits available to veterans, including scholarships and educational funds, housing assistance programs and VA health care services.

On April 11, the committee hosted a Zoom presentation with agent Barry Kolker. Topics included how to work with an agent, how military skills translate to the entertainment industry, and practical steps for veterans and military personnel to position themselves for success.

The newly formed N.Y. Local Military Committee advocates for SAG-AFTRA members who have served, or presently serve, in the U.S. military. It endeavors to increase employment opportunities by outreach and engagement across the entertainment industry and by providing development opportunities such as classes, panels and gatherings to engage and unite the community.
