Your SAG-AFTRA New Mexico Local participated in the annual Film & Media Day at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe on Monday, Feb. 12. It was a culmination of the first annual New Mexico Film Week, which included the Santa Fe Film Festival and the first New Mexico TV + Film Hall of Fame banquet gala. New Mexico Local Board members participated in panel discussions about diversity, attended the Hall of Fame gala and, of course, spent Monday with industry folks and hopefuls on Film & Media Day. What a week!

Dear New Mexico Local Member,

The SAG-AFTRA New Mexico Local has an opportunity to offer a special workshop for New Mexico’s union members who are seniors. The potential workshop would be focused on topics relevant to older professionals.

We would like to serve you in the best way possible and in order to help us do so, we’ve created an online survey. It only takes a few moments to complete and your confidential and anonymous responses will help us to craft a workshop that will be most beneficial to you and your fellow members.

Dear SAG-AFTRA New Mexico Members,

The new year has sprung! This year is already looking to be a record-breaker in terms of total production. There are at least eight feature films on the slate this spring plus new and returning TV series. And, like the past several years, New Mexico actors are being considered for recurring roles. It’s a great time to be an actor in New Mexico!

When we think of the “biz” side of showbiz, our checklist usually lists things like contracts, headshots and classes. Rarely do we think of legislation, but it is something that can have a drastic effect on our wages and opportunities.

Join Your Fellow New Mexico Union Brothers and Sisters.

Defend your rights and the rights of other hardworking New Mexicans.

Several new so-called “Right-to-Work” bills are being introduced tomorrow in the state senate. We highly encourage you to join your fellow New Mexico union brothers and sisters at the Roundhouse to let our legislators know that “Right-to-Work” is wrong for New Mexico. Bring your family and friends.
