Screen Actors Guild Heads to Austin for SXSW 2010

In a coordinated effort between SAG's New Media department, iActor, SAGindie and the local SAG Dallas/Ft. Worth Branch office, SAG staffers are headed to SXSW.

Held annually in Austin, TX, SXSW is considered one of the world’s premiere film festivals. The festival includes film premieres, informative panels and workshops, a trade show and networking events. SAG staffers will be presenting and hosting a number of panels on topics ranging from casting productions online to the growth of new media in our industry.

In addition to participating in panels, staff will be hosting a booth during the trade show in order to educate the producers, directors and actors in attendance on what it means to work with the Guild and the value that SAG talent brings to their productions.

SAG has also partnered with Gowalla.com to create an exciting promotion to encourage attendance at SAG events during the festival and is co-sponsoring The Tweet House, which brings together the leaders in the entertainment and tech industries for collaboration and discussion on social media issues.
