Los Angeles (Sept. 19, 2011) — Screen Actors Guild congratulates its Deputy National Executive Director and General Counsel Duncan Crabtree-Ireland for being selected as the recipient of the 2011 Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Charles R. English Spirit Award.
In a September 17 ceremony aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Crabtree-Ireland received the award in recognition of his efforts to promote the bar’s interests and for being an inspiration to its members.
In presenting the award, Phyllis Kupferstein,LACBA Delegation chair, praised Crabtree-Ireland’s professionalism andleadership. “Duncan exemplifies the Charles R. English Spirit Award,” Kupferstein said.
Crabtree-Ireland said he was appreciative of this recognition from his peers in the legal profession. “I can’t say how honored I am that they would select me for this award,” he said. “And when I think about the other people who have received it over the years, I am doubly honored. I am very proud of it.”
SAG National Executive Director David White attended the ceremony and praised Crabtree-Ireland’s dedication. “I find Duncan to be an inspiring character and we are all proud of the service he provides to the legal profession and to this state,” he said.
Crabtree-Ireland has served the Guild for 11 years, and has served as deputy national executive director and general counsel for the last five. He previously worked as a deputy district attorney in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
