NOV. 13 IS ACTOR DAY ON THE WGA PICKET LINES!

Come to Universal Studios tomorrow and show your Screen Actors Guild solidarity for striking WGA writers. In the interest of keeping the TV cameras focused on the strike, WGA has announced that there will be a "Picketing with the Stars" rally on Tuesday, November 13, from 12-2 p.m.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
Main Gates 1, 2 and 3 (all gates off of Lankershim Blvd.)

The following contract rules apply to performers under series contracts (series regulars) during a strike:

HOLD

  • The Producer may continue to pay the performer their full salary. This will keep the performer on hold during any suspension and all terms of their personal service agreement will remain in full force and effect.

Los Angeles (Nov. 8, 2007) -- Everybody Love Raymond’s Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, and WGA member/show creator Phil Rosenthal will join writers on the WGA picket line at Paramount Studios today at 10 a.m.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson will make a statement in support of striking WGA writers today at 11 a.m. at Paramount Studios (Windsor Gate). Joining Rev. Jackson will be WGAW President Patric M. Verrone and fellow Writers Guild members.

Screen Actors Guild will have a staff presence at every WGA picket line to ensure that SAG members’ questions are answered.

REMINDER:
If you are contracted to work on a television series or motion picture that continues to produce while the WGA is on strike, you are obligated by your personal service agreement and the “No Strike” clause in our collective bargaining agreements, to go to work.

You can continue to audition for work and accept new work if you choose to do so.

The Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) board and Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) council voted today to call a strike against the film studios and television networks that make up the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) on Monday, November 5.

Please read this notice carefully as it outlines important instructions and information for all 120,000 Screen Actors Guild members.

NEWEST CASTING DATA SHOWS HIGHEST ETHNIC MINORITY REPRESENTATION ON RECORD Los Angeles (October 29, 2007)—Following a fifteen year trend, non-Caucasian performers made incremental gains over the past two years, although mostly represented in supporting roles, according to the latest casting data collected and analyzed by Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in 2005 and 2006. Casting data for women and senior performers has remained relatively unchanged.

Hollywood, CA (October 25, 2007)—Screen Actors Guild today was honored with an Award of Excellence star on Hollywood Boulevard—making it the first union ever to receive this honor. The ceremony, which took place in front of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, served as the official kick-off event for the Guild’s year-long 75th anniversary celebration. The star is located at 7018 Hollywood Boulevard.

On Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 11 a.m., the Hollywood Historic Trust will present an Award of Excellence star to Screen Actors Guild—making it the first guild ever to receive this honor.

The ceremony will serve as the official kick-off event for the Guild’s year-long 75th Anniversary celebration. The star will be unveiled at 7018 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
