Los Angeles (May 2, 2007)—Screen Actors Guild today announced the promotion of Mark Friedlander to director of new media, effective May 21, 2007. Friedlander will head the Guild’s newly formed new media department and will report to Pamm Fair, SAG’s deputy national executive director. “Mark’s expertise in new media and interactive contracts, combined with his knowledge of emerging technologies and his legal background, make him the perfect choice for this new position,” Fair said.

Los Angeles (April 12, 2007)—Screen Actors Guild today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Bennett as deputy general counsel based in SAG’s New York office, effective May 1, 2007. Bennett currently serves as counsel at SAG’s national headquarters in Los Angeles. In his new position, he will report to SAG General Counsel Duncan Crabtree-Ireland and will be responsible for managing the operations of the Guild’s New York-based legal staff, as well as oversight of all legal affairs and strategy in the eastern U.S.

Updated April 2007 SAG Constitution and By-Laws.

The Constitution was amended on April 22, 2007 by the SAG National Board of Directors to: 1) establish a system for the appointment of delegates to serve at the Electoral Convention of the Associated Actors and Artistes of America (“4As”), 2) change the quorum requirement for the conduct of business at National Board meetings and 3) allow each Division the autonomy to appoint its own member representatives to national committees.

Los Angeles (February 16, 2007)— Screen Actors Guild National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Doug Allen announced today that Ray W. Rodriguez has accepted the position of Deputy National Executive Director of Contracts, effective February 19, 2007. Rodriguez has been SAG’s deputy general counsel since March of 2004. In his new position, Rodriguez will report directly to Allen and will oversee the Guild’s contract departments, which includes the responsibility for negotiation and enforcement of all collective bargaining agreements.

Los Angeles (February 15, 2007)—In a national vote completed today, members of Screen Actors Guild voted overwhelmingly to approve a dues and initiation fee increase. The membership voted 68 percent to 32 percent in favor of the proposed structure. Twenty-seven percent of the approximately 114,000 paid-up SAG members who received ballots voted. The final vote was certified this afternoon by Integrity Voting Systems in Everett, Washington.
