On Friday, Dec. 20, the union’s two separate Madison Avenue offices will shut its doors for good and reopen Jan. 6 at One Lincoln Plaza, 1900 Broadway. This new space, across from Lincoln Center, will unite staff, who have been working in two locations since the March 2012 merger. Members, who have shuffled between the 260 and 360 Madison Avenue locations will now have one convenient location to conduct all their union business.Read More
Today, staff members at Chicago Public Media (CPM) voted to join 165,000 media and entertainment professionals in choosing SAG-AFTRA as their union.
The new bargaining unit will cover 49 public media professionals who produce, report, host and present content for WBEZ, Vocalo, Sound Opinions and CPM’s digital services. CPM employees are looking forward to negotiating a first contract.Read More

Justin Timberlake and SAG-AFTRA have reached an agreement for the dancers on his 20/20 Experience World Tour to be covered by the SAG-AFTRA Touring Agreement. Under the agreement, performer earnings count toward pension and health benefits eligibility. The deal also provides touring companies with improved budget flexibility through direct negotiations with performers.

SAG-AFTRA mourns the loss of legendary stunt performer Hal Needham, who has passed away at the age of 88.
Whether it was jumping out of an airplane or flying a rocket powered pickup trick, Needham never shied away from danger. In June of 2011, Needham visited the former SAG headquarters to share stories of his life with an eager audience who filled the James Cagney Board Room to capacity.Read More
LOS ANGELES (Oct. 8, 2013) --- SAG-AFTRA has agreed to a one-year extension of two of its legacy contracts for corporate, non-broadcast and educational work. The National Board of Directors ratified the agreement between the union and the Producers Group on Oct. 1 at its meeting in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles (Oct. 7, 2013) –– A Federal Court Judge today granted in full a SAG-AFTRA motion to dismiss the vast majority of the plaintiff’s complaint in the Asner v. SAG-AFTRA matter.
SAG-AFTRA counsel Bob Bush of Bush Gottlieb, said, “We applaud the judge’s action today. We basically got everything we asked for and the vast bulk of the plaintiff’s frivolous complaint has been dismissed, as it should have been.”Read More

Los Angeles (Oct. 1, 2013) – The SAG-AFTRA National Board of Directors met Monday and Tuesday and reviewed several administrative, finance and governance matters, including setting a start date for Wages and Working Conditions meetings for the upcoming SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical contracts negotiations.
This was the first meeting of the first-elected National Board of SAG-AFTRA, which followed the union's four-day convention in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES (Sept. 29, 2013)-- The inaugural SAG-AFTRA National Convention concluded today with inspiring speeches from the union’s top officers, which focused on the convention’s theme: United for Our Future. The day capped a four-day convention bringing together member delegates from across the country to celebrate union solidarity and conduct business.
