Union achieves new, industry-exclusive streaming fee for ‘cloud gaming’

LOS ANGELES (June 9, 2011) – The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, AFL-CIO – a national union of more than 70,000 performers, recording artists and broadcast professionals – today announced that it has reached a tentative agreement with videogame industry representatives on terms for a new 3 1/2 year AFTRA Interactive Media Agreement, covering AFTRA members who work in videogames. The current contract is set to expire on June 30, 2011.

Los Angeles (June 8, 2011) - Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists announced today that members have approved three-year successor agreements to the AFTRA National Code of Fair Practice for Non Broadcast/Industrial/Educational Recorded Material and the SAG Industrial and Educational Contract.

Overall, the memberships of SAG and AFTRA voted 95 percent to 5 percent in favor of the new agreement.

Union demands information from record labels to confirm and secure payment to artists

Hilsman will also supervise operations of the AFTRA Tri-State Local which is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, and serves AFTRA members working in Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and parts of Ohio (Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton).
