JOINT AMPTP-SAG STATEMENT 4.25.08

Los Angeles, April 25, 2008 - The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and Screen Actors Guild met for the 10th day and have adjourned. In light of the one week extension agreed to April 23, the parties will not meet on Saturday. Negotiations will resume Monday, April 28 at 12:00 noon.

LOS ANGELES (February 20, 2004) – A joint national board of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) today strongly endorsed an agreement reached earlier this week with producers for a one-year extension of the current TV/Theatrical contract set to expire on June 30. By a vote of 79 percent to 21 percent, the joint board approved sending the extension agreement to the full memberships of both unions for ratification, expected during the next 30 days.

Los Angeles, Apr. 23, 2008 - Screen Actors Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have agreed to extend our bargaining session by one week. The parties will continue negotiations through May 2, 2008.

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and Screen Actors Guild met in previously scheduled caucuses today and have adjourned these sessions. The parties will resume negotiations on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

SAG and AMPTP Meet for Third Day

Los Angeles, Apr. 17, 2008 -- Screen Actors Guild and The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers met in a third straight day of talks on Thursday. The parties have adjourned for the day and will reconvene in separate caucuses Friday morning and will resume negotiations at 1 p.m.

AMPTP and SAG Meet in First Day of Formal Bargaining

Los Angeles, CA, Apr. 15, 2008 -- Screen Actors Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers held a full day of meetings today and exchanged proposals. We will meet again tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.

Los Angeles (April 6, 2008) -- Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg released the following statement today:

"Screen Actors Guild mourns the loss of former SAG president Charlton Heston, who died Saturday. He was an actor of astonishing talent, a capable and visionary union leader and, above all, a man of dignity and grace.

"He will be missed by many people across the world, but by none more so than the members and staff of Screen Actors Guild who were honored to have served with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Lydia and his family."

SAG and AFTRA Representatives To Present Contract Proposal Package to Unions’ Joint Board on Saturday, March 29

Los Angeles (March 4, 2008)—Screen Actors Guild today announced the immediate availability of Guaranteed Completion Contracts (GCC) for qualifying independent producers of theatrical motion pictures.

The contracts allow qualifying producers to continue production without regard to any uncertainty regarding upcoming negotiations between Screen Actors Guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
