Dave Corey, former SAG-AFTRA National Board member: “The last time I saw Ken was Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at the second SAG-AFTRA National Convention. The night before I stood shoulder-to-shoulder with President Howard to accept the George Heller Memorial Award gold card, the greatest honor a member of SAG-AFTRA can receive. Ken said, ‘Dave is the only one in the room with whom I can speak eye-to-eye,’ a reference to our mutual height. But with Ken, I know I shared an equal relationship with the thousands of SAG-AFTRA members he served with grace, dignity, fairness, diplomacy and…love. I shall cherish that for the rest of my life. And, I’m so very proud to have spent some quality time in the ‘shadow’ of this great union patriot.”
Steve Gladstone, Miami Local President: “We all want to contribute something to this life of ours, to feel good and perhaps make a difference. Ken once told me that when I stepped up to the microphone and addressed the national board, everyone would suddenly pay attention to what I was saying. I wouldn’t have known that, being blind and unable to read the faces around me when I spoke. Ken’s validation told me what the silence was saying. He was my friend, as was his wife, Linda. He was a steadfast champion of the working actor and his words, ‘The fight to protect performers is never over,’ continue to ring true. We were all blessed to have his leadership through this current major shift in storytelling and technology. He will be forever missed.”

AA Unite was founded in 2011 by Nancy Daly in honor of her mom who died from Alzheimer’s. AA Unite is the only non-corporate National Friends and Family team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. There are 35 teams and counting this year, and more join every week. Anyone can join or start an AA Unite team in any city that has a Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Actors, artists, their friends and families are all welcome to join nationwide, as we walk for a cure and for a future that we can all remember. When actors and artists unite, the world can shift, and it has.
