"SAG-AFTRA is extremely disappointed with today’s ruling in IMDb v. Becerra and SAG-AFTRA. The Court unfortunately fails to understand or recognize the massive impact gender and age discrimination has on all working performers. That discrimination is facilitated by IMDb’s insistence on publishing performers’ age information without their consent. The ruling also refuses to recognize the reality of the commercial nature of IMDb’s database publishing operation.

Today, staff at KUOW-FM 94.9, a National Public Radio member station in Seattle, Washington, overwhelmingly elected to join SAG-AFTRA. SAG-AFTRA represents 160,000 members including radio and TV broadcasters and journalists across the country. The new bargaining unit will cover the public media professionals who create content for the station, which is affiliated with the University of Washington. The unit includes the station's announcers, hosts, producers and reporters, as well as digital and community engagement staff.

Meeting by videoconference between the James Cagney Board Room in Los Angeles and the Ken Howard Boardroom in New York on Saturday, the board received a report from President Gabrielle Carteris and National Executive Director David White on the Four Pillars of Change Initiative being issued to members and industry representatives.
