Los Angeles (March 15, 2007)—Screen Actors Guild has formed a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Actors Caucus to provide support to LGBT actors and to educate the SAG membership, industry and public on LGBT actors’ issues, as well as to work towards ending discrimination against LGBT actors in the workplace.

Los Angeles (February 16, 2007)— Screen Actors Guild National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Doug Allen announced today that Ray W. Rodriguez has accepted the position of Deputy National Executive Director of Contracts, effective February 19, 2007. Rodriguez has been SAG’s deputy general counsel since March of 2004. In his new position, Rodriguez will report directly to Allen and will oversee the Guild’s contract departments, which includes the responsibility for negotiation and enforcement of all collective bargaining agreements.

Los Angeles and New York (February 15, 2007)--The Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW), the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) applaud Chairman George Miller and the House Education and Labor Committee for their support of the Employee Free Choice Act (HR-800), which aims to enable workers, including writers and other creative artists, to bargain for improved wages, benefits, and working conditions by giving workers the freedom to choose whether to join a union without employer interference.

Los Angeles (February 15, 2007)—In a national vote completed today, members of Screen Actors Guild voted overwhelmingly to approve a dues and initiation fee increase. The membership voted 68 percent to 32 percent in favor of the proposed structure. Twenty-seven percent of the approximately 114,000 paid-up SAG members who received ballots voted. The final vote was certified this afternoon by Integrity Voting Systems in Everett, Washington.

The Guild’s free, searchable online casting directory is open for resume submissions and will launch to the industry in spring 2007.

Los Angeles (February 13, 2007)--Screen Actors Guild today announced the member launch of iActor, its free online casting directory. All active, paid-up Guild members can now upload their headshots, resumes, video clips and audio clips to create individual iActor profiles that will be searchable by casting professionals when the site launches to the industry this spring.

Los Angeles (February 9, 2007)— Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg today announced the formation of the Guild’s 75th Anniversary Task Force. The Guild will celebrate the anniversary in 2008, and plans are underway for several nationwide events.

(February 9, 2007)—The following is a statement from Screen Actors Guild (SAG), the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) in response to today’s ruling by the Department of the Treasury (Internal Revenue Service) that participations and residual payments must be considered “production costs” for the purpose of calculating the $15 million production limit stipulated in the federal production incentive (Section 181) contained in the American JOBS Creation Act of 2004.

Los Angeles (February 1, 2007)—Screen Actors Guild today announced that Pamela Greenwalt has been named communications executive director, effective February 26, 2007. Greenwalt comes to the Guild from ULLICO Inc. in Washington D.C. where she was vice president, corporate marketing communications.

Greenwalt will be based at the Guild’s Los Angeles national headquarters and will report to Pamm Fair, deputy national executive director.

(January 19, 2007)---The AFL-CIO is asking union families to boycott the Blue Man Group, a theatrical production company headquartered in Las Vegas running shows concurrently in five U.S. cities: Las Vegas, Boston, New York, Chicago and Orlando. The company also produces Blue Man shows in London, Berlin and Toronto.

Ballots to be Returned No Later Than February 15, 2007

Los Angeles (January 16, 2007)-Ballots and referendum information regarding the proposed new dues structure and important changes to the Screen Actors Guild Constitution and By-Laws were mailed today to all eligible voting members of the Guild. Returned ballots must be received by U.S. mail at the assigned P.O. Box in Everett, Washington no later than 5 p.m. (PST) on Thursday, February 15, 2007. A simple majority of those who vote in favor is required for the referendum to pass.

SAG, AEA, AFTRA, AGMA, and AGVA members may NOT accept employment in this production without an Equity contract.
