Business of Acting: The Inside Scoop on Casting - a Free Panel and Workshop

SAG-AFTRA National Native Americans Committee and SAG-AFTRA EEO & Diversity department in partnership with Montana Film Office present an informative, interactive panel discussion and acting workshop led by casting directors, professional actors and other industry experts.

The panel-workshop is free and open to all ethnicities. 

 

Workshop instructors include casting director Rene Haynes (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse & New Moon), director Andrew Smith (Winter in the Blood), actor Delanna Studi (Edge of America) and others.

 

The panel discussion with industry experts will give an overview of auditioning, headshots, resumes, reels, representation, audition tapes, social media resources for actors and more.

 

Audition Opportunity: Also, as part of this panel-workshop, a select group from the audience will have an opportunity to practice auditioning with on-the-spot feedback from the workshop leaders and casting directors. These “auditions” will be in front of a live audience.

Submitting to Audition: If you are interested in the opportunity to participate in the audition portion of the workshop, please send your digital headshot & resume diversityevents@sagaftra.org no later than 5 p.m. (MST), Feb. 3, 2014. Please title your documents to include your first and last name.

A workshop casting director will select a diverse group of participants from a wide range of ethnicities, age and acting experience. You will be notified in advance of the event if you are selected to audition, and you will receive sides to practice. If you are not selected, you will still have the opportunity to drop off your headshot at the event for the casting directors.
