The San Francisco Conservatory Presents: How to Effectively Market Yourself as an Actor with Joe Mazza

When: Saturday, January 31, 2009,  11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 

Where: San Francisco State University, Room 134, Creative Arts Building. 1600 Holloway Avenue, San Francisco.

It is important for actors to balance their love of performing with a savvy business approach to marketing.  Topics to be covered include:

• Marketing yourself as an actor in the San Francisco Bay Area
• A revealing look at the casting process
• Taking an honest look at your “type” or “brand” and how to tailor your headshots and marketing materials more effectively
• A look at the Los Angeles market and how to compete
• How to prevent actor burnout and keeping yourself focused

• Due to limited class size for this event, RSVP’s will be taken on a first come, first served basis. 
• Places will be reserved for those who have not previously attended this Conservatory workshop.
• here is no charge for this event - it is only open to paid up members of SAG and AFTRA.

SAG AND AFTRA MEMBERSHIP ORIENTATION


Whether you are a new or longtime member of AFTRA or SAG, Membership Orientation is a chance to get answers to those confusing and nagging questions.  The amount of information to absorb can seem monumental, and this program is here to help. Topics covered include every step involved in the union experience--from initiation fees and the dues structure, to the correct way to execute member reports and contracts. Other areas discussed include agents and commissions, casting directors, resolving claims, health coverage, set demeanor, committees, staff, etc.  Plan now on attending the next Membership Orientation and stay informed.

When: Thursday, February 19, 2009, 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.
(The building is locked after 6:00 p.m., so you must register in advance in order to gain entry)
