To survive in this business and keep more money in your pocket, you need to know all about…taxes, taxes, and oh, did we mention taxes!!! (What, you wanted the odds on Academy Award winners?)
Even more interesting and certainly more relevant than this year’s red carpet and those accountants at PricewaterhouseCoopers are your income tax and the deductions that can save you money this year.
Sandra Karas, director of the VITA Program, SAG-AFTRA New York Local Board member, and Secretary-Treasurer of AEA will be on hand to present this year’s tax updates and review expense deductions for performing artists.
Go to: SAGAFTRA.org/ny/vita and download this year’s forms and worksheets. Bring them with you, along with your questions and we’ll get you ready for tax time. (And maybe get your refund before the Awards show airs!)
