When: 5-7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, 2013
Where: SAG-AFTRA, 7th Floor - Eddie Cantor Boardroom
260 Madison Avenue
(Between 38th and 39th streets)
Audible Vice President Jason Ojalvo and Executive Producer Mike Charzuk along with a panel of SAG-AFTRA narrators will provide an overview of the audiobook industry with particular focus on work opportunities at Audible and ACX. Topics covered will include:
- The growth of digital audio
- Review of the 13th week contract with advice from narrators who have worked under it successfully
- Home studio setup and discussion of common setup problems to avoid
- Tips on creating a demo that will get you noticed by Audible
- Working through ACX
Following the panel, there will be a Q&A session and the ability to meet with Audible representatives who will be accepting auditions. A short cocktail reception will follow.
The Audible representatives will be happy to accept demos but ask that they be 2-5 minutes of long form narration – no commercial demos please. Please also note that they are particularly interested in receiving demos from narrators who can portray young sounding characters for YA titles.
The event is full and RSVPs are no longer being accepted.
This event is only open to paid-up SAG-AFTRA members in good standing — no guests are allowed. SAG-AFTRA members, please bring your membership card (paid through October 31, 2013 or April 30, 2014) for admittance.
