From Burt Wonderstone in January last year through House of Lies this month, many Nevada members had the opportunity to work on signatory productions as background performers. Here is the chance to learn more and ask questions about contractual issues. At this conservatory, Nevada welcomes the consummate expert on SAG-AFTRA background work, Terri Becherer, national director of Specialty Performers. The presentation is an updated version of what Terri teaches in L.A. and around the country, and will provide the Nevada performer with the tips needed to maximize your casting opportunities and get that check with all of the benefits a SAG-AFTRA contract offers.

Terri, along with Nevada Local Executive Director Steve Clinton, will talk about the nuts and bolts of being a background performer – a comprehensive look at the background actor’s contractual rights when working under SAG-AFTRA contracts - from vouchers to negotiating hazardous pay on-set to dealing with casting. There will also be a Q&A after the presentation to discuss any specific issues and/or problems Nevada performers are having on-set.

This is a rare opportunity to talk with the person who actually has all the answers!

Parking: Free parking is available on-site.

Cost: Free for Nevada Conservatory members or $20 per workshop.

Nevada Conservatory Cost: $40 a year for union members. $80 a year for non-union members.
