About Adam Hill:
Adam Hill began his theatre career as an actor with the prestigious Broadway repertory company, APA. Since that time, Adam has acted on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in regional theatre and in touring companies. Although the main emphasis of his career has been theatre, he has acted in film and television as well. As a director he has directed over 50 productions coast-to-coast. Unfortunately, he has never directed on Broadway, but he has directed Off Broadway at the wonderful Cherry Lane Theatre and Center Stage as well as several other venues that no longer exist. Adam has directed the acting portion of Star Search as well as a TV pilot presentation for ABC written by and starring Brad Garrett.
Adam’s successful acting career led him to practice his true love, teaching. It began in 1970 when a group of actors asked if he would work with them and continues to this day. However, it wasn’t until 1985 that he opened his own studio in Los Angeles. Adam Hill Actors Studio in Los Angeles has produced some of the finest talent in the film and television industry. Adam was Artistic Director of Actor’s Alley in Los Angeles.
In 1996 Adam was asked by Wilkes University in Pennsylvania to establish a professional theatre program on their campus. Adam established the program and within two years created a Musical Theatre degree. In a short time the enrollment went from three to over 50 students!
Adam’s next venture was to establish a “working actor’s” class in New York City. Its purpose was designed to polish the actor’s audition skills as well as enhance their Script Analysis skills and to challenge their comfort zones. Adam will soon be teaching advanced acting classes in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Adam currently writes the Showbiz column for Pageantry Magazine.
