For the third year the Nevada Local is proud to support the Annual Las Vegas Halloween parade. We’ll be walking with the union banner held high. All costumed characters are welcome to join for free!
Our previous participants have had a jolly good time in this fun and exciting event. We’ve had a lot of press and exposure for our local. Everyone in costume is welcome to be in the parade so invite all your family and friends to come along and participate.
To accommodate those who want to participate but can’t walk the 6-block route, we will have a small float to ride on. The theme of the float is "A Pirate’s Life", as in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. We would love to see you as a pirate, wench or deckhand if you plan to ride.
Again, any costume will work, but the more in theme your costume is the more our float will make sense.
There is a parade pre-party, after party and costume and float contests.
When: 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013
(The parade starts at 7 p.m., so anyone arriving after 6:45 p.m. will not be able to join the SAG-AFTRA group)
Where: East Fremont and 13th Street
SAG-AFTRA parade participants will begin lining up on East Fremont and 13th Street at 6 p.m. (Look for the pirate ship float). Beginning promptly at 7 p.m., the parade route marches, squishes and scurries west on Fremont Street East, under the open sky, to the free after-party located at Fremont and 7th Street, with dancing, food and wacky celebrations.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The parade has a new route this year. To see a route map, visit http://www.thelasvegashalloweenparade.com/map
