2017 Knoxville Film Festival, Sept. 15-17
The 2017 Knoxville Film Festival is this weekend and SAG-AFTRA will be there. The largest film festival in the region, this year’s festival will include narrative features, innovative web series, shorts and Tennessee-based documentaries.
Held at the Regal Downtown West Cinema 8, Knoxville’s arthouse theater, the Knoxville Film Festival has become the region’s destination for independent cinema. In 2016, the Knoxville Film Festival had close to 4,000 in attendance. Films from 21 states and seven countries were submitted, and 84 independent films were shown during the festival.
Members of SAG-AFTRA Nashville will also be at the festival this year. On Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11:30 a.m., we’ll have a workshop panel exploring the state of filmmaking in the East Tennessee region and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead:

Cost: Normally $50. Mention you’re a SAG-AFTRA member when ordering festival passes to get in for $40, a $10 discount. The discounted passes gives you admission to all of the films during the festival (not applicable to individual show tickets).
