SAG-AFTRA National Asian Pacific American Media Committee & Native Americans Committee present an informative, interactive panel discussion and workshop on the acting industry taught by casting directors, professional actors and other industry experts during the 2013 Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF).  The panel-workshop is open to all ethnicities.  The event is free for SAG-AFTRA members and HIFF festival-goers.
 
Workshop instructors include casting director Rene Haynes (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse & New Moon), casting director Rachel Sutton (Hawaii 5-0), actor Kelly Hu (X2, Scorpion King), actor-director, Keo Woolford (The Haumana, Act of Valor), actor Delanna Studi (Edge of America) and actor Ren Hanami (The Young and the Restless).
 
The panel discussion with industry experts will give an overview of auditioning, headshots, resumes, reels, representation, audition tapes, social media resources for actors and more.
 
Audition Opportunity:  Also, as part of this panel-workshop, a select group from the audience will have an opportunity to practice auditioning with on-the-spot feedback from the workshop leaders and casting directors. 

When: 2-4:30 p.m. HST, Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013

Parking:  $7 for self-park at the hotel or $10 for valet parking.
 
Submitting to Audition:   If you are interested in the opportunity to participate in the audition portion of the workshop, send your digital headshot & resume to diversityevents@sagaftra.org  no later than 5 p.m. HST, October 7, 2013.  
 
A workshop casting director will select a diverse group of participants from a wide range of ethnicities, ages and acting experience.  You will be notified in advance of the event if you are selected to audition, and you will receive sides to practice.  If you are not selected, you will still have the opportunity to drop off your headshot in person at the event for the casting directors.
