Women in Film and Video: Advance Screening of The Zookeeper’s Wife
In addition to the short film table read event on March 25 at Hickok Cole in Georgetown, and with special thanks to the National SAG-AFTRA Women’s Committee, the Washington-Mid Atlantic Local is partnering with Women in Film and Video to bring a special advance screening of the feature film The Zookeeper’s Wife to DC. We are especially excited because the film’s director Niki Caro (Whale Rider, North Country) and the screenplay writer Angela Workman (The War Bride, Longbourn) will be with us and will host a Q&A session afterwards.

The Zookeeper's Wife is a 2017 British-American war drama film directed by Niki Caro and written by Angela Workman, based on the non-fiction book of the same name by Diane Ackerman. The film stars Jessica Chastain, Johan Heldenbergh, Michael McElhatton and Daniel Brühl. It had its world premiere on March 8, 2017, in Warsaw, Poland, the location of the plot, followed by screening at the Cinequest Film Festival on March 12, 2017, before being scheduled to be released on March 31, 2017, by Focus Features.
