Lynette O’Connor, owner of the O’Agency in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the best agent ever! First, simply because of her competence, Lynette is the agent every actor aspires to have represent them. She is always available and willingly gives her time to advise and counsel when you need help moving your career along. When you get an audition or call-back, or get cast in a role, her delight in your success is as tangible as your own.
July SAG Agent of the Month: Lynette O’Connor, O’Agency, Albuquerque, New Mexico
But most people would say the same about their own agents, so what sets Lynette apart from the crowd and makes her so special? As most people know, this year was a very tough one for the acting industry, particularly in states like New Mexico where major legislative battles were waged over the importance of the film industry and incentive programs. During this session, Lynette was a vital resource, keeping actors and industry professionals up to the minute–every day and far into the evenings–with news from the Capitol so that we could proactively respond to each new development or even approach key legislators (or the Governor herself) to effect the best resolutions. Without Lynette’s perseverance, acumen, and untiring efforts, we might not have prevailed as we did.
So thank you, Lynette, for providing me the best, most professional representation I could desire and for making the film industry in New Mexico stronger. You always play “by the rules,” and the Screen Actors Guild is fortunate to have a franchised talent agent of your caliber.
Are you represented by a terrific, franchised agent that you believe does not get the recognition that he or she deserves? Let us know and he or she may just be our next Agent of the Month. Send entries by e-mail to email@example.com, or by mail to SAG Agent of the Month, SAG Agency Department, 5757 Wilshire Blvd., 7th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90036-3600. We look forward to hearing from you!
