Actor Bio
Matt is a non-native Chicago actor, hailing from a township 30 minutes south of the Gateway to the West.
 
Matt recently starred in the McDonald's "Pay With Lovin'" commercial campaign, which aired 2 spots during Super Bowl XLIX. In early 2012, he appeared as Chicagoland's Walmart Challenge host, taking real moms through Walmart grocery sections and comparing the prices from their last grocery receipts. His other commercial work includes ads for Exxon Mobile, Sears, Qdoba, Jose Cuervo, Gordmans, Furthermore Proper, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, and ManCo Duck Tape.
 
Online, Matt regularly appears in videos for The Onion, appearing as Tech Trends reporter Aaron Vaughn.
 
The SAG feature film Saugatuck Cures, in which Matt plays the supporting role of Paul, was recently purchased for distribution by Breaking Glass Pictures and will enjoy a limited theatrical release in the Spring. It has screened in three festivals to date.
 
Recently on stage, Matt played the leading role of Chris Keller in Raven Theatre's critically acclaimed and Jeff Recommended production of the Arthur Miller classic All My Sons. Regionally, Matt played the role of Timothy in Steven Karam's Sons of the Prophet*, produced by TheatreSquared, an Equity house in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His other Chicago work includes the role of Aaron McKinney/Ensemble in The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later (Redtwist Theatre), Henry "Author" Wiggen in Bang The Drum Slowly (Raven Theatre Company), Matt Callahan in Wonders Never Cease* (Provision Theater Co.), Ensemble in Storybox (CIF/Piven Theatre Workshop), Al Joad in The Grapes of Wrath (Infamous Commonwealth), Hansen in "Chatter," (WildClaw Theatre's Deathscribe, an evening of live radio plays), and Dylan Klebold in columbinus (Raven Theater Company) which was nominated for 5 Non-Equity Joseph Jefferson Awards, including Best Ensemble and Best Production, and which won for Best Director (Greg Kolack). Matt also understudied the role of Peter in David Schwimmer's gripping drama Trust* (Lookingglass Theater Company) and did perform the role. Matt is an Equity Membership Candidate.
 
On television, Matt joined the cast of Chicago Fire on the 7th episode of the the first season. The episode, "Two Families," aired on November 21st, 2012 on NBC.
 
Matt holds a BA in Theatre from Lindenwood University and completed the Conservatory program at the Second City Training Center in 2005. He is proudly represented by Gray Talent Group.
