SAG-AFTRA today announced the hiring of Richard Van Syckle as the new Nashville Local executive director, overseeing the union’s day-to-day business on a local level.

Van Syckle comes to SAG-AFTRA with a wealth of experience in network television and new media production, major market local news, national marketing and advertising and international syndication. He has produced, written and directed many projects with SAG-AFTRA members and is a firm believer of the union as the artist’s representative.

Attention all members: Please read the following important notice regarding the Esquire Network and Oxygen Network.

SAG-AFTRA has issued a "no-contract, no-work" order for  the titled cable program Comedians of LA and Living With Funny. It’s a single series, produced by a single company—L. Plummer Media—but for two different networks: Esquire Network and Oxygen Network. Comedians of LA is the series on Esquire; Living With Funny is the series on Oxygen Network.

Just this week, Congressman Nadler and Congresswoman Blackburn, along with dozens of recording artists, musicians and vocalists gathered at the SAG-AFTRA New York office to announce the Fair Play Fair Pay Act of 2015. The Fair Play Fair Pay Act will better the lives of everyone who creates music – and everyone who loves it.

SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard today praised the Fair Play Fair Pay Act of 2015, introduced by representatives Jerrold Nadler, Marsha Blackburn, John Conyers Jr. and Ted Deutch. The announcement of the bi-partisan legislation was made today at the SAG-AFTRA national office in Manhattan.
