Oregon's Incoming Governor Boosts Tax Incentives by $10 Million

The news for Screen Actors Guild Portland Branch actors was good Wednesday as incoming Governor John Kitzhaber announced his 2011-12 budget, with Oregon's film tax credits intact and increased. Under "Revenue Changes" in his report, Kitzhaber recommended "an expansion of the Film Development Tax Credit." He said putting Oregon on the big screen is key to bringing in revenue, and he is boosting the production tax credit by $10 million a year.

2011 SAG Basic Cable Agreement (Live Action) Referendum Ballot Sent to Eligible Members

On December 4, 2010, the Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors voted to recommend to members, a new, successor agreement to the 2009 Basic Cable Live Action Agreement and that the referendum would be sent outupon ratification of the 2011 TV/Theatrical Contract.
Ballot packets were mailed on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 to all eligible voters.

Media Inc. Has Pacific Northwest SAG Members Covered

Pacific Northwest SAG members were delighted to find their executive director Dena Beatty as the cover story in Media Inc., a Northwest media marketing publication. TNT and TBS Simulcast of the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® Watched by 5 Million Viewers

LOS ANGELES (February 1, 2011) -- More than 5 million viewers tuned in Sunday night as TNT and TBS presented the live simulcast of the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®.  This year’s star-studded simulcast ranked as basic cable’s #1 show on Sunday and posted solid 6% growth over last year in total audience.  The two-hour ceremony also scored strong gains among key adult demos compared to last year.
