The ending of institutional competition took a couple positive steps forward since I wrote last fall that I did not see any light at the end of the merger tunnel. The decision by both the SAG National Board and the AFTRA National Board to jointly bargain the TV/Theatrical/Exhibit A contracts under the aegis of the AFL-CIO brokered Non-Disparagement Agreement signals a further rapprochement and steadily improving relations between the two unions.
SAG National Director, New Media Mark Friedlander and Associate National Director, Affirmative Action & Diversity Adam Moore will be guests on the program Tomorrow Will Be Televised Friday, April 30. The program runs live at noon PST/3 p.m. EST on BlogTalk Radio.
Los Angeles (April 28, 2010) — Screen Actors Guild continues to establish and enhance its relationships throughout the global entertainment marketplace with programs that promote cinematic diversity. SAG's support for emerging partnerships between the Indian and American film industries help it ensure that filmmakers see the Guild as a potential partner that represents professional talent.
