Los Angeles (October 22, 2010) - Representatives of the AFTRA and Screen Actors Guild Presidents’ Forum for One Union met last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles to begin joint discussions about uniting to form a single union.

SAG Members May Accept Engagements on the “The Hobbit”

Today, our sister union, New Zealand Actors Equity (NZ Equity) recommended that all international performers’ unions withdraw their advisories prohibiting members from accepting engagements on the feature film production The Hobbit.

In light of this recommendation, Screen Actors Guild is notifying you that SAG members may now accept engagements, under Screen Actors Guild contract terms and conditions, on The Hobbit.

SAG Statement Regarding the Feature Film Production "The Hobbit"

Los Angeles (October 20, 2010) - Screen Actors Guild today released the following statement regarding the feature film production The Hobbit:

“Today, our sister union New Zealand Actors Equity issued a statement recommending all international performer unions rescind their member advisories on the feature film production The Hobbit. In light of this recommendation, Screen Actors Guild will be alerting its members that they are now free to accept engagements, under Screen Actors Guild contract terms and conditions, on The Hobbit.”
