Statement by AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka on the SAG-AFTRA Video Game Strike:

The AFL-CIO stands in solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA voice-over and motion-capture performers who are on strike after failed negotiations with eleven video game employers. Performers deserve a modern contract that offers the protections necessary to work in today’s video game industry.

We want your membership to be counted.

When Halloween comes to an end, something important will occur that affects how you and your fellow members will be represented in union governance matters for the next two years.

A count of local membership (a census) will determine the representation of locals in the SAG-AFTRA Governance system. To make sure your local has maximum voting power on the SAG-AFTRA National Board and at the SAG-AFTRA Convention in 2017 we need you to be counted.

SAG-AFTRA Responds to Management Claims

As Picketing Begins, SAG-AFTRA Remains Committed to Negotiations

LOS ANGELES (October 24, 2016) -- Despite what the video game employers restated today, SAG-AFTRA has not received a fair offer that would resolve our negotiations. The union remains committed to reaching an equitable solution while employers are the ones who continue to be intractable in their bargaining.

In anticipation of our picket of EA on Monday, Oct. 24, the company has established a reserved gate. SAG-AFTRA members will therefore be picketing at the Fountain Way Gate as reflected on the attached map. Strike captains and signage will be on site to direct members to the correct location. The picket is set to take place from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
