After 31 Years of Service, Kim Roberts Hedgpeth Steps Down as Co-National Executive Director of SAG-AFTRA
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 16, 2012) --- SAG-AFTRA today announced that Kim Roberts Hedgpeth has decided to step down as SAG-AFTRA Co-National Executive Director on April 30, after 31 years of service to union performers, recording artists and broadcast professionals working in the entertainment and news media industries.
SAG-AFTRA mourns the loss of broadcaster Mike Wallace, who died Saturday at the age of 93. Best known for his work on 60 Minutes, Wallace had already been in broadcasting for decades when the show debuted in 1968. He developed his distinctive interview style on a popular New York television show called Night Beat, and went on to head The Mike Wallace Interview.

Associated Press to Honor Out Gay Reporter Hank Plante

On June 2nd, retired political reporter Hank Plante will accept the 2012 Stan Chambers Award for Extraordinary Achievement from the Associated Press Television and Radio Association.
International President Matthew D. Loeb has sent congratulatory messages to SAG President Ken Howard and AFTRA President Roberta Reardon, on the completed merger of the two guilds.
ACTRA Toronto congratulates SAG and AFTRA on the successful vote to merge their two unions.
